NEWSLETTER/COMING EVENTS
Summer is definitely over, such as it was. All the Alpacas were waiting for a summer that never really came.
That is probably good news for Manitoulin's Fibre Industry, although many will be wondering why!
We had a fairly cool summer and a really early Autumn with lots of cool temperatures. The month of October even saw some snow and hail and icy surfaces. That means winter is going to be early this year. Yuck! However, the Alpacas seem to love it.
While we have been busy finding our winter clothes and getting the winters wood in place, the Alpacas have been steadily growing their coats to keep themselves warm. It has only been 5 months since we sheared them and they already have nice thick coats on. Especially the cria, they are all set for winter. I know we're not!!
See the pictures below. These are the cria that were born this summer. They are all growing and doing well.
